Jennifer Huisken LaPointe is a senior consultant in the education division at Public Sector Consultants. She brings over 15 years of experience in the education arena, specializing in special education policy and practice, technical assistance systems, personnel development, program design and evaluation, and process facilitation.
In her role at PSC, Ms. Huisken LaPointe analyzes education policy and practice issues and provides strategic counsel, system design, and facilitation services to clients. She is currently managing projects for the firm with education agencies in Arkansas, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining PSC, Ms. Huisken LaPointe served at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration as a State Technical Assistance Specialist. In this role, she provided leadership in the management and operations of a regional center of technical assistance related to federal disability law to multiple states and to centers within the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education (OSEP) Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network.
While at the University of Minnesota, Ms. Huisken LaPointe also served as project director for several federally funded projects. In this capacity, she coordinated project activities, including training, technical assistance, program evaluation, and product development.
Ms. Huisken LaPointe holds a BA in Special Education with honors from Hope College and a master’s degree in Social Work with a certificate in Disability Policy and Services from the University of Minnesota School of Social Work.
